ベネディクト・カンバーバッチが主演を演じるアメコミ『Doctor Strange/ドクター・ストレンジ』。既にレイチェル・マクアダムズ、チウェテル・イジョフォー(『12 Years a Slave/それでも夜は明ける』で共演)の出演が決定済み。

そして新たに、デンマーク人俳優マッツ・ミケルセンの参加が確定とThe Hollywood Reporterが報じました。

The Hollywood Reporter:The cast of the Marvel movie gets cooler and cooler.

Michael Stuhlbarg, who is currently on screens as Apple engineer Andy Hertzfeld in the awards contender Steve Jobs, is in negotiations to join the cast of Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

Scott Derrickson is directing the movie, which is due to begin shooting December in London and which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Marvel’s supernatural superhero.

Already on the roll call are Rachel McAdams as the female lead, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, as well as Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mads Mikkelsen.

マッツ・ミケルセンと言えば、『SHERLOCK/シャーロック』シリーズ3で勿体ない使われ方だったマグヌッセンを演じたラース・ミケルセンの実弟。

マッツ・ミケルセンは『The Hunt：偽りなき者』でカンヌ国際映画祭主演男優賞。最近はあのレクター博士シリーズをNBCがテレビドラマ化した『HANNIBAL/ハンニバル』で主演レクター・ハンニバルを演じています。

現時点では、マーベル本体からの公式発表が出ておらず、THRの独占スクープの様子。カンバーバッチは既にネパールで撮影に入っているので、早く公式発表が出て欲しいものです。
