ベネディクト・カンバーバッチがMajor Stewart役で出演している、スティーブン・スピルバーグ監督作品『War Horse』が、「イギリスで最も美しい街」に何度も選ばれているCastle Combeというコッツウォルズの村で9/21早朝より撮影を開始しました！
BBC：Steven Spielberg's War Horse begins filming in Castle Combe
A crew of over 300 extras and 30 horses are heading to Castle Combe for the first day of filming of Steven Spielberg's new movie, War Horse.
Castle Combe had to compete with a host of Devon villages to land a role in the Oscar winning director's new multi-million pound film.
The village, now closed for filming until the end of September, is doubling for a Devon village.
Fiona Francombe, a Production Liaison Manager from South West Screen said: "Castle Combe lends itself to filming.
"It's a very controllable, picturesque village - very good for period filming - which of course War Horse is.
"They scouted a lot of Devon villages and they may have considered Lacock but they didn't fit."
Davonの村とオスカー監督の獲得競争をした結果、このCastle Combeがロケ地を勝ち取ったようです。
300人のエキストラ＆クルーと30頭の馬。
この小さくて美しい村は、9月末まで『War Horse』のために閉ざされるそうで…。今ツアーでコッツウォルズを回ろうと思っている観光客にはちょっぴり悲しいニュースかもしれませんね[E:coldsweats01]

この村はいくつかの映画のロケ地として今までにも使われているらしく、古くは1967年の『ドクター・ドリトル』から、最近ではクレア・デーンズが出ていた『スターダスト』の撮影場所としても使われたそうです。
住人は9月末までの約2週間、閉鎖された村で少々不便を強いられることになりますが、補償金以上のポジティブなものを残して行ってくれるだろう、とプロダクション連絡マネージャーは話しています。
コッツウォルズ。いつか行ってみたい場所ではありますが、多少老いてからでもいいか？なんて思ってまだ足を運んでいないエリアです[E:sweat01]
映画が公開されたら、「ここを歩いたのね～」とミーハーな気分で訪れてしまいそうです(笑)
